The co-author of my recent op-ed in Engineering Times, "Engineers, Terrorism, and the Spread of Democracy," Michael Horowitz, authored a recent piece in Christianity Today, "How to Win Friends and Influence Culture." It details criteria Christians should use in evaluating societal causes to intentionally and collectively support.
I think Christian engineers should, with other interested engineers, advocate human rights within and through the engineering profession. I recently submitted a draft position statement to the Public Policy Committee of the American Nuclear Society on this topic.
If there were a viable Affiliation of Christian Engineerss, it could facilitate Christian members of ANS collectively and intentionally influencing ANS to adopt such a position statement.
