I believe we have the right to influence the workplace and I try to do so at every opportunity. When I was teaching at Sinclair Community College I was able to profess my faith as a result of a personal accident in which my 16 year old daughter was killed as I was nearly so. What I found was that people do want to know where you stand. As I travel and meet with other engineers I never hesitate to talk about my faith and I have found many christian engineers. They are usually afraid to talk to others because they think they will alienate their co-workers. And they may do that. Our HR person doesn't like christians and since I am the only one in our small office she gives me as much trouble as possible. I am convinced that influencing the profession is something positive.
